Azimushwan Ijtema organized by Anjumane Hefazate Islam Bangladesh, the biggest public gathering in Sylhet, has concluded successfully.
On the occasion of the 77th anniversary of the organization, more than half a million `Musalli’ from different parts of the country gathered in the two-day Ijtema organized at Paraichake central truck terminal on the Sylhet-Fenchuganj road.
The Azimushwan Ijtema started at dawn on Thursday and ended at 10 am on Friday morning with the final prayer of Ameer of Anjumane Hefazote Islam Bangladesh Mufti Rashidur Rahman Farooq Barnavi.
In Ijtema Islamic speeches were given by hundreds of leading ulama-mashayekhs and intellectuals of the country. Many Islamic scholars from abroad participated in it.
Mufti Muhammad Rashidur Rahman Farooq Barnavi said, Anjumane Hefazate Islam Bangladesh is the oldest non-political organization in the region. Its main program is to strengthen the bonds of Islamic brotherhood among the common people. It has nothing to do with conventional political activity. Anjumane Hefazate Islam is not a ladder to anyone’s power, nor does this organization have an agenda to remove anyone from power.
In the final prayer, he wished for the welfare of the country and the nation.
It should be noted that Hazrat Lutfur Rahman Barnavi (Pir Saheb Baruna) founded the Anjumane Hefazate Islam organization in 1944. Since then, this organization has been working continuously for the welfare of humanity, the preservation of the religion and faith of Muslims and the promotion of human values. Press Release
