Muhibur Rahman elected first mayor in Biswanath

Former two-time Upazila parishad Chairman, Awami League leader Muhibur Rahman has been elected mayor in the first election of Sylhet’s Biswanath municipality by a huge margin of votes.
His symbol was ‘Jag’. He got 8 thousand 474 votes. His nearest rival, Awami League nominated candidate with ‘Boat’ symbol got 3 thousand 263 votes. And independent candidate Momin Khan Munna, organizing secretary of UK BNP came third by getting 3 thousand 70 votes on the ‘mobile’ symbol.
Various individuals and organizations have congratulated Muhibur Rahman.
