Environment, Forest and Climate Change Minister Md Shahab Uddin called on the countrymen to give Awami League chance again to run the country under the leadership of Sheikh Hasina to make Bangladesh a developed country.
He made this call in the speech of the chief guest at the meeting titled ‘Modern City and Road Ideas’ on Moulvibazar Municipality on Saturday afternoon.
Politicians, representatives of civil society, media workers and representatives of various government departments participated in the rally organized by Moulvibazar Municipality and District Police at the Bengal Convention Hall in the town.
Moulvibazar-3 Member of Parliament Neshar Ahmed, Sylhet Range DIG Mofiz Uddin Ahmed PPM, Deputy Commissioner Mir Nahid Ahsan, Municipal Mayor Md Fazlur Rahman and Sadar Upazila Parishad Chairman Md Kamal Hossain spoke as special guests. District Superintendent of Police Mohammad Zakaria presided. Moulvibazar Sadar Circle Additional Superintendent of Police Md Ziaur Rahman coducted and Additional Superintendent of Police (Admin & Finance) Hasan Mohammad Naser Rikabdar delivered the welcome speech.
The Minister of Environment, Forests and Climate Change said that all concerned should be sincere to reduce traffic congestion and modernize the city.
He directed the Deputy Commissioner to look into the matter of regulating CNG auto-rickshaws in the city.
Earlier, a proposal book of Sylhet Range DIG on ‘Modern City and Road Concept’ was unveiled on Moulvibazar Municipality.
Later open discussion was held. Participating in it, guests brought forward various proposals regarding road and traffic management, children’s safety and entertainment with the aim of transforming Moulvibazar into a modern city. Moulvibazar Correspondent
