Habiganj Correspondent : Kumari Puja was held at Habiganj Ramakrishna Mission and Sevashram with religious rituals and solemnity.
This puja starts at 10 am on Monday and ends at 10:45 am on the Mahaashtami of Autumn Durgotsava.
In Kumari Puja, girls aged between 1 and 16 years are worshiped as goddesses. But this ritual is not celebrated everywhere.
This year, 8-year-old Mistu Bhattacharya Sukanya of Noapara of Madhavpur Upazila, whose classical name is Kunjika, was worshiped as a virgin at Habiganj Ramakrishna Mission.
Thousands of women, men and children from the city and surrounding villages thronged the premises of the Ramakrishna Mission on Kumari Puja. Later prayers are offered for the well being of the country and mankind.
