‘Sylhet Divisional Literary Fair created a bridge between literary workers of four districts. Brought known-unknown writers close. Therefore, it can be expected that new mutual relations will spread new momentum in literary practice in this region.
Such optimism was expressed at the closing ceremony of the Divisional Literature Fair.
On Sunday, June 4, there were various events throughout the day. Attendance was more than expected. Finally, the colorful cultural program fascinates everyone.
On the last day of the two-day Sylhet Divisional Literary Fair at 10:30 in the morning, there was ‘Poetry, Rhyme and Lyric Poem Reading’. Veteran rhymer Bidhubhushan Bhattacharya presided over this episode. Under the direction of Shamsul Alam Selim, more than half a hundred registered poets-composers took part in the recital.
Then there were ‘special readings of short stories, novels, essays, travelogues and parts of plays’. Ten registered authors recited under the chairmanship of poet A K Sheram and moderator Humayun Kabir Jewell.
In the third episode, there was an exceptional event ‘Writing Story’. Poet-researcher Shuvendu Imam, writer-journalist Al Azad, poet-writer Akmal Hossain Nipu (Moulvibazar), poet-researcher Dr Zafir Setu, researcher Kallol Talukdar (Sunamganj) and poet-translator Muhammad Imdad participated in it moderated by poet-translator Zakir Zafran.
Then there was the closing ceremony. Sylhet Divisional Commissioner Dr Muhammad Mosharraf Hossain was the chief guest. Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Debojit Singh presided. Sylhet Deputy Commissioner Mojibor Rahman was the special guest. Poet-researcher Shuvendu Imam and poet-writer Akmal Hossain Nipu were the guests. Moderator was Jannatul Nazneen Asha.
Finally there was a cultural program moderated by Syed Saimoom Anjum Evan and Jannatul Nazneen Asha. Artists from four districts performed dances, songs and `Maljora’ songs. Cultural Reporter
