Another 15 leaders of BNP have been expelled from the party for life as they defied the party decision in the first phase of the upcoming upazila parishad elections in Sylhet division for contesting for the post of chairman, male vice chairman and female vice chairman.
Among them are 3 people from Sylhet district, 7 people from Sunamganj district, 3 people from Habiganj district and 2 people from Moulvibazar district.
On Saturday, May 4, they were informed of their expulsion in separate letters signed by BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi.
The expelled are Sylhet District BNP Treasurer, Goainghat Upazila Parishad Chairman Candidate Shah Alam Swapan, Sylhet District Women’s Dal Organizing Secretary, Jaintapur Upazila Parishad Vice Chairman Candidate Paulina Rahman and Fatehpur Union Chhatra Dal former Vice President Saad Uddin Saddam.
Sunamganj District BNP Member Advocate Saiful Islam Chowdhury Kamal, Tahirpur Upazila BNP Former Vice President Abul Kashem, Bishwambharpur Upazila BNP Member Harunur Rashid Dulal, BNP Former Central Leader, Bishwambharpur Upazila BNP Member Mohan Mia Bachchu, Sunamganj District Women’s Dal Former Convener Madina Akhter, Jamalganj Upazila BNP Former President Nurul Haque Affindi and former convener of Jamalganj Upazila Shwecchasebok Dal Abdullah Al Mamun.
Moulvibazar District Ulama Dal Joint Convenor Maulana Abdul Hekim and Moulvibazar District Mahila Dal Vice President Dolly Begum.
Habiganj Bahubal Upazila Mahila Dal General Secretary Alfa Begum, Nabiganj Upazila BNP First Joint Convenor Mujibur Rahman Sefu and Nabiganj Municipal BNP First Joint Convenor Abdul Alim Yashin.
